High Dose Vitamin C

What Could High Dose Vitamin C Do?

The body can’t produce Vitamin C but it still has a wide range of roles in the body and is linked to many health benefits.

High dose Vitamin C may be a strong antioxidant to strengthen the body’s defenses. Antioxidants are molecules that help boost your immune system and protect cells from harmful free radicals. High dose Vitamin C may also help with high blood pressure. High blood pressure can put you at risk of developing heart disease, which is the number one cause of death.

One of the main uses for high dose vitamin C is it is given in-between chemotherapy treatments and his been shown to help reduce common side effects, improve energy, and possibly reduce cancer growth.

High dose Vitamin C has been shown to help increase the concentration of the vitamin in the blood by about 50x more when compared to just oral supplementation. The benefit of this higher concentration is that it may help to improve quality of life in patients undergoing chemotherapy, it may help to reduce nausea, improve energy, and improve appetite in patients receiving chemotherapy as well.

There is some evidence demonstrating that high dose vitamin c by IV may reduce cancer growth as well. It is important to note that all studies for high dose vitamin C have been done it patients who are receiving chemotherapy as well, not as a monotherapy {on its own).

Vitamin C may help prevent gout attacks. Gout symptoms appear when there is too much uric acid in the blood and at high levels, it can crystallize and deposit in joints. Vitamin C helps reduce uric acid in the blood to help protect against gout attacks.
